Another Day, Another Blog
So, I was listening to an interview with Andrew Hyde, the founder of (among other things) http://pick.im, and Andrew Hyde mentioned the importance of having a personal blog and writing in it often. I hear a lot of people with large followings say that having an active blog contributes hugely to their following, and gives people a way to quickly see what you're all about. I have a blog for one of my projects, http://apprabbit.com, and I try to write in it from time to time, but I don't have a blog just for me, Mark Ransom, until now. So welcome to my blog, I'll try to post often,
Also, as an aside, I agree with Andrew Hyde on the topic of cheap spec work in the form of 99designs and the sort. If somebody asked me to program a custom website or plugin on the off chance that they might pick my code from a bunch of other submissions, I'd laugh...hard. Keep stickin' up for the little guys Andrew, and thanks for all of your contributions to the startup community.
